How we began...
I am Kyle Clayton, the youngest son of Ron and Karen Clayton, who started the work of India Missions in 1979. I first went to India in 1981, when I was 11 years old, but I started working with India Missions in 1993. My father passed away in 2021 and now I am no longer with that organization.
Along with my wife, Madhuri (Sony), a native of India, we launched India2.0 on January 26, 2024. This date was fitting, because it is also India’s Republic Day – the day India celebrates the adoption of its Constitution.
In all honesty, this is not a new beginning. It is a continuation of the work my family has been involved with since 1979. Sony and I decided we would continue our efforts under the new name – India2.0 – and continue to aid our co-workers in their efforts for the Lord’s church in India.
Our team’s main mission and goal is to encourage the preaching and teaching of the gospel in India with the hopes of bringing more souls to Christ and help them better understand the Scriptures. Along with this, we also realize the need to reach communities that are often overlooked and neglected.
We believe benevolence is a work of the church; we should try to help our brothers and sisters in Christ. We also believe benevolence should be available to all (Gal. 6:10). Our hope is that by giving some small help to people in these communities with some of their material needs, it may help open up opportunities to teach them the Gospel.
What are our fellow laborers involved in?
- Reaching out to members of a leper colony – Hundreds of thousands of new cases of leprosy are reported every year in India and the government does little to help them.
- Operating a school for the underprivileged in Hyderabad – Over 100 students are currently enrolled and being educated
- Relief efforts – Benevolence programs for widows, HIV+ patients, and victims of disasters are being carried out
As for preaching and teaching, although I am currently not in India, I remain actively involved through weekly Zoom Bible classes, teaching and encouraging our brethren with the Word of God. When the Lord wills, I will return to India.
We have gone through many struggles through the years; however, we love the work we are involved in and the people in India. We know Satan is defeated and God is victorious, yet Satan continues to disrupt the work of the church. Despite the obstacles Satan places in our path, we remain steadfast in our mission to spread the Gospel. There is still much work to be done, and we hope you will join us in our efforts.
For those of you who have helped us, we cannot thank you enough. We ask for your continued prayers and support so we can continue our efforts in the Lord's work.
God bless.
Kyle Clayton
